Justin Bieber Apologizes For Smoking Weed On Tv

Justin Bieber Apologizes Smoking Weed

Justin Bieber apologizes for smoking weed while hosting “SNL” on Feb. 9.

Nothing was off limits for Justin Bieber when he hosted “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 9 — not even his weed scandal.

While appearing as a super fan on “The Miley Cyrus Show” sketch, Bieber both confirmed that he’d been caught smoking weed and apologized for it.

In character as the President of Miley’s fan club, he chided Cyrus (played by Vanessa Bayer) for being friends with “that douche Justin Bieber,” before launching into a string of insults:

“You’re kidding me right. He looks like a lesbian… I heard he still has his baby teeth,” he said adding:

“I also heard he got busted for smoking weed and he’s really sorry about it and people make mistakes and he’s never gonna do it again.”

Yeah, we’ll take that as both an admission and an apology, even if the Biebs was in character while he said it.

Rumors the “As Long As You Love Me” singer had been “acting out” and smoking weed began just before Christmas, and following his breakup with Selena Gomez, photos of the Biebs smoking marijuana at a party emerged in early January.

Since those photos emerged, there have been more reports that Bieber had been spotted smoking weed and at a party where there was “sizzurp” — a combination of promethazine/codeine cough syrup and soda.

Bieber was expected to address the “scandal” during his hosting gig on “SNL,” but his apology came off as sad instead of amusing. Bieber is arguably the most famous 18-year-old in the world, and he’s basically been forced to apologize for doing something that’s totally legal in California –as long as he had a prescription. But hey, he’s learned his lesson — he’s never going to do it again — or maybe he’ll just try harder not to get caught.

Justin Timberlake Reunites With T.I. For New Music

Now that our long wait for new music from Justin Timberlake is officially over and his new “Suit & Tie” single is breaking records, it’s only a matter of time before we get our hands and ears on his brand-new full-length album, The 20/20 Experience.

So who else will be involved in Timberlake’s passion project? Well, “Suit & Tie” producer Timbaland will likely contribute to more songs (or potentially all of them, for that matter), and T.I. told MTV News that he worked on a handful of songs with Justin and Tim.

T.I. Has ‘Two Or Three’ New Records With Justin Timberlake

“Yeah, I spoke to JT. Me, him and Tim was on the phone,” T.I. told MTV News while promoting his new movie “Identity Thief,” starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. “I did a record for them at the end of last year. They were working on a record together, and I had the pleasure of assisting them on their particular record,” he said, before revealing the tentative title of one of the songs. “I think it’s called ‘Goodbye Homey,’ one of them is, and then there is another one; I did maybe two or three records with them.”

T.I. and Timberlake first collaborated on “My Love,” from 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds. Tip is just as excited as fans are about the new direction of Justin’s music, as evidenced by “Suit & Tie.” “It’s just great that he’s back into doing music. The record he has out with Jay right now is phenomenal,” he said of “Suit & Tie.” “It was definitely a sound that was missed.”

The rapper/actor didn’t go into too many specifics of his tracks with Timberlake and Timbaland but did explain the idea behind “Goodbye Homey.”

“Well, ‘Goodbye Homey’ is really, it’s saying goodbye to something that is very special to you,” he said. “Not necessarily a person; it could be a time of your life, it could be an experience, it could be a relationship, it could be a friend that’s passed on. ‘Goodbye Homey,’ it has so many meanings and definitions. So when you hear it, you absorb it, and then whatever it means to you is what we intended.”

Now we’ll just have to wait and see if “Goodbye Homey” or any other T.I. collabos end up on The 20/20 Experience. The album doesn’t have a release date just yet, but Timberlake promised it would drop this year — and the fact that he just booked a Super Bowl weekend gig could mean we’ll see it sooner than later.

Justin Timberlake Books Post-Grammy Gig For ‘Fans Only!

Justin Timberlake celebrated his birthday Thursday, but he’s getting very little time to party. Since dropping “Suit & Tie” last month, he’s hit the ground running, now adding a post-Grammy Awards concert to his already hectic schedule.

With his album, The 20/20 Experience, set for release March 19, the singer keeps booking gigs left and right. On Saturday, one night before the Super Bowl, he’s set to take the stage at the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night charity event in New Orleans. And on February 10, he’s booked to take the stage at the Grammy Awards.

Justin Timberlake – “Suit & Tie ft. JAY Z (Lyric Video)”

Timberlake tweeted Friday (February 1) that he’ll play a show on Grammy night at the Hollywood Palladium. “The 20/20 Experience begins at @thepalladium on Feb 10th. Tix on sale tomorrow at noon PST. #JT2013,” he wrote, noting that no press will be invited. “Fans only!”

Given how excited everyone is for Timberlake’s big return to music, we’re guessing the show will sell out pretty quickly. Not enough Timberlake? He’s also slated to play the Brit Awards on February 20 at London’s O2 arena.

T.I. makes some time for Justin Timberlake’s next album!

For those who won’t be able to make it to any of those shows, they have the “Suit & Tie” video to look forward to. He’s teamed up with Jay-Z (who appears on the Timbaland-produced track) and “The Social Network” director David Fincher for the visual. We don’t know much about the video yet, and given how high-concept the lyric video for the track was, our expectations are pretty high. There’s one thing we can guess based on a photo of Hova and Timberlake on set: It will have suits and ties.

Lil Wayne Sinks Pixar Film Rumors

Lil Wayne is usually animated on the mic, and while having the Young Money boss lend his vocal talents to a Disney/Pixar animation may sound like a good idea, Weezy’s management team has told MTV News that the recent reports are just rumors.

The word was that Weezy would be starring in “The Good Dinosaur,” an upcoming alt-history Pixar film in which an asteroid never hits Earth and dinosaurs are never wiped off the face of the planet. The film will be directed by Bob Peterson (co-director of 2009’s “Up” and writer of 2003’s “Finding Nemo”) and is set for release on May 30, 2014.

Nicki Minaj, Drake Show Appreciation For Lil Wayne

Not that an animated Wayne would be foreign to the Young Money camp — both Drake and Nicki Minaj were featured in last year’s “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”

Whatever his plans, Weezy has already been making plans to transition out of music after he drops his Tha Carter V album. If the rap star has his way, he’d fully transition into the world of sports. “I’d be a skater/sports analyst,” Wayne told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway in November of his ideal future profession. “My day job will probably be sports analyst and I’ll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night.”

Weezy has already appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” alongside sports analyst Skip Bayless and recently appeared on Jim Rome’s sports talk show, so he’s headed in the right direction.

Though he is currently putting the finishing touches on his upcoming I Am Not a Human Being II LP, the “A Milli” lyricist is rarely without a skateboard as he has now immersed himself in the skate world. Not only has he built skate parks in his native New Orleans and in Miami, he also owns Trukfit, a skate-inspired clothing line. On Wednesday, a picture of Wayne with a new face tattoo surfaced online. The tat read “Baked” in block letters that look strikingly similar to the logo used by Baker, a manufacturer of popular skate decks.

Drake’s ‘Started From the Bottom’ Filled With Fire And Frustration

If you think Drake had an easy come-up, think again. Most caught on to Drizzy’s ascent after he already hooked up with Lil Wayne on 2009’s So Far Gone mixtape, but on his new single “Started From the Bottom” Drake lets everyone know that it wasn’t all peaches and cream.

The track, which the Take Care spitter 281x211was set to drop on Grammy night, came about two weeks early on Friday (February 1) on Drake’s OVO blog. He also shared a heartfelt letter with his diehards.

“I feel sometimes that people don’t have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn’t consistent with actual events,” he wrote. “I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I’m excited for this song to find a place in your life as well.”

The Mike Zombie-produced single (the first from Drake’s upcoming LP) begins with a dreary piano loop before the rapper begins his chant, which is backed by steady war drums. “Started from the bottom now we here/ Started from the bottom now the whole team here,” he bellows in a deeper more menacing tone than we are used to hearing from the usually smooth rapper.

With the track’s first verse Drake rhymes about the conflicts he had with his mother while he was still mapping out his then-uncertain future in music. “I done kept it real from the jump/ Livin’ at my mama’s house, we’d argue every month,” he spit telling another piece of the story that he began to lay out on 2009’s “Successful.”

It’s true Drake’s journey isn’t thought to be the typical rags-to-riches rap story, like for example DMX, who was raised in a group home. Still the hardships are all relative. On “Started” Drizzy isn’t only determined to tell his story, there’s an underlying frustration with how he is portrayed by others. “Boys tell stories ’bout the man/ Say I never struggled, wasn’t hungry, yeah I doubt it n—a,” he spits.

Sonically the sinister-sounding song is a departure from previous Drizzy singles like “Headlines,” “Take Care” or “The Motto,” but that doesn’t make it any less potent. With his third major label LP on the way, Drake seems ready to take things up another level. The bottom never looked so far away.

Beyonce Belts National Anthem At Super Bowl

Decked out in all-white everything, Beyoncé took on all the critics and haters onstage in New Orleans on Thursday (January 31). She not only opened up about this Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime performance, but sent a clear message about her talents.

Before she even took one single question, she belted out the national anthem, and finally addressed the speculation that she didn’t sing it live at President Obama’s inauguration last week, owning up to the chatter that she sang with a pre-recorded track at last week’s inauguration.

Beyonce Sings The National Anthem At Super Bowl Press Conference

“Well, I am a perfectionist and one thing about me: I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra,” she told the room of reporters. “It was a live television show and one of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk. I wanted to make [Obama] and my country proud, so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track and I’m very proud of my performance.”

She later addressed the controversy, noting that she “absolutely” intends to sing live on Sunday. “Typically they have you sing a pre-recorded track ’cause anything could wrong,” she said of last Monday’s performance. “So I did sing along with the pre-recorded track … I always sing live. The inauguration was unfortunately a time where I could not rehearse with the orchestra, actually because I was practicing for the Super Bowl, so it was always the plan.”And, she reiterated a number of times that “I will absolutely be singing live [on Sunday]. I am well-rehearsed and I will be singing live. This is what I was born to do.” She added, “Like I said I’ve had a 16-year career and all of the things that I’ve done has prepared me for this. So I’m ready. I love haters. No shame, no hate.”

While she was open to discussing the lip-synch scandal, she decided to play coy when it came to divulging any details about Sunday’s big show. With so many rumors floating around about what she might play at the show, she explained, “That was the hardest thing. I have so many songs and trying to condense a career into 12 minutes is not easy.”

She was equally tight-lipped about the Destiny’s Child reunion rumors. “I can’t really give you any details. I’m sorry,” she said. “Well we just had a new release and we did a new song. It was so exciting to hear us together again. I felt like a little teenager again when I heard us harmonize. It’s always such a pleasure to be around them professionally and personally.”

She also wouldn’t share which team she’s rooting for, instead noting that she’s been hard at work for this performance for months. “It is nerve-racking and it is something that we have been preparing for four or five months,” she said. “So, of course, I’m nervous and I think when I was driving up I just got chills. It’s where my family is from, so it really makes me emotional. It’s the one thing when I’m no longer here, it’s what they’re going to show. I’m so honored when I got into the Superdome, I took my shoes off and I planted my feet in the ground and I just ran. I’m so, so, so happy right now in my life.”

It was also announced her “Dream Girls” co-star Jennifer Hudson would perform “America the Beautiful” with the Sandy Hook Elementary choir. It was already announced that Alicia Keys will perform the national anthem.

There was one more surprise for her fans. She shared that after her Super Bowl performance she’d have some announcements for her BeyHive, including her tour plans. “This has been an aspiration for me,” Beyoncé said of her own performance this Sunday. “I just thank God that I’m given this opportunity.”
